What You Own

So things I've learned as of late:

-Home doesn't change (for better or for worse is the catchphrase after all).

-Job hunting, especially with today's search engines, is NOT any easier.

-Living in this state (geographical and metaphysical) is highly overrated.

-That being said, I'm sticking with the choice I made to be here and trying to not look back.

-Also following the aforementioned, if it is at all possible (meaning someone else hires me), I intend not to return home next year. Factoring in dealing with adults who act like toddlers shouldn't be part of the equation of coming home.

-Some dogs are smart. Some are not. Mine are of the latter breed.

-Walking is therapeutic. Too bad I can't do it during daylight hours under threat of heat stroke and the other options are late at night with the canines or early morning (okay, so I should get over it and just wake up earlier. Its not like I have a job right now or anything to hinder me).

-Pay attention! It saves life from so many annoying and frustrating conversations.

-Don't say everything you know. A) Nobody wants to hear it. B) You have no bargaining chips when you've already laid everything on the table.

-When in doubt, search the internet. It may not have the answer, but at least it will be a pleasant change or distraction from your questions.

-All computers have problems. Wishing for a Mac will not take away the PC in front of you.

-That being said, external hard drives make PCs seem much prettier.
Except for when the sound still refuses to work.

-Summer vacation means there should be vacation time interspersed with work time.

Just some thoughts ruminating in my head. Only 3 weeks until conference and then another month or so until friends in cooler climes and then 3 weeks and back to the wonderful daily grind of the Tri-State.
